Méribel was founded in 1938 by Scotsman Peter Lindsay, who laid out its chalet-style architecture; it later became the heart of the Three Valleys.
Its central position gives quick access to the whole Three Valleys, with tree-lined runs, pretty chalet villages and something for every level.
Méribel sits at 1,450m in the Tarentaise valley of the French Alps, at the middle of the Three Valleys — the world's largest linked ski area at around 600km of pistes.
Courchevel and Val Thorens are a lift-ride away, and the spa town of Brides-les-Bains sits at the foot of the valley.
The wooded ridges and interlinked valleys of Méribel make for a warm, layered map that captures the scale of the Three Valleys.
