Les Arcs, above Bourg-Saint-Maurice in the French Alps, is part of the vast Paradiski area — purpose-built, ski-in ski-out villages and long, varied descents.
Les Arcs was built from 1968 as a modernist, purpose-built resort by architect Charlotte Perriand, pioneering ski-in ski-out design.
Long, varied descents to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, the vast Paradiski link to La Plagne, and genuinely ski-in ski-out villages are the draw.
Les Arcs' villages sit between 1,600m and 2,000m above Bourg-Saint-Maurice in the Tarentaise, part of the Paradiski area of around 425km.
La Plagne via the Vanoise Express cable car, and the funicular down to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, connect the area.
The long fall-lines and the Aiguille Rouge descent give Les Arcs a dramatic top-to-bottom shape on the map.
